General Meetings are held on the second Friday of each month (unless otherwise stated), October through May, at 10.00am at the Horticultural Hall, Botanical Gardens, Paget. Please browse our calendar for dates of upcoming meetings.

Mangrove swamps not only protect shorelines and boats from storm surge and waves by absorbing much of their energy but they also absorb and store carbon from the atmosphere. When they die, the carbon stored in their branches falls to the sea floor and becomes buried in the soil. Trapped here it doesn’t re-enter the atmosphere if it remains undisturbed.
